A Quantum Leap

Hey kids!!

I have a computer again!

I guess you didn't know that I didn't have one, so let me explain quickly:

Scout, my beloved lap top of 4/5 years was feeling sluggish, so I sent him to see MPC and MPC killed him.

Ok, didn't really killed him, but in the process of re-installing Windows, ran into a few problems.

Good news, Scout is back, a little different, and much faster than it's been in a very long time.

We are very happy to be back into each others arms, or fingers to keyboard as it is.

Now that I have a working computer again, I will try to update more frequently. I need to share news/events and happenings of my very uneventful life with you all!

Big City Living

I think MPC is trying to kill me, he made me borrow and ride a bike yesterday and now I want to die. My butt hurts so much. It makes me so grateful to have a job that requires standing instead of sitting.

The good news from this adventure is that we got to take in the lake front and ride the bike trail from my apartment all the way to Navy Pier, which was very cool. It's so pretty. I can't believe July is nearly over and soon fall and winter will be here.

How can you read this? There's no pictures!

Last night, in all my wisdom, I met a friend for margaritas and guacamole. It was quite yummy, but left me dreaming the weirdest things, EVER!

First, I had a dream that Las Vegas was actually in Wisconsin, so I was determined to go because it was so close. But somehow, Nevada was also in WI, like some kind of giant worm hole moved Nevada into WI without displacing the rest of the country, it was weird.

Then, I had a dream that I was in my bed at my parents house, but I woke up in my Chicago apartment. It was surprisingly depressing. I guess it means I really need to make a visit to MI and catch up with my family and friends.

That, or no more guacamole and margaritas right before bed time.

In other news, MPC's family is here, visiting, for a MONTH...

Ya, a whole month, it's been interesting so far, only 22 more days to go... (yes, I am counting the days)

Some People Want to Fill the World with Silly Love Songs...

I had the most amazing Valentine's day ever!!!!!!!

Really!

MPC surprised me with a night here along with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.

I was blown away, totally shocked, honestly.

The view was amazing! It's fun to see the city from a new perspective. It was also great to have a nice little "get away" with my sweetie.

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's day!

Just to the West

This past weekend MPC and I took a mini-break out to St. Charles, IL. It's just west of the city in the "Fox Valley" area, meaning everything is named after the Fox River. It was kind of worrisome to see so many things named after a furry little mammal.

It was so nice to escape the craziness of the city just for a little bit. I knew I wasn't in a real city the moment we hopped in the cab at the train station and the cabbie greeted us with a "Yo, what's up?" and had a rock station playing. I had a feeling he might have been high, but he was nice and didn't smell funny like so many of the Chicago cabbies so it was a welcomed change!

Without any public transportation we walked a few miles downtown and back during the day on Saturday and managed to catch a lovely windburn on my face! That night we went to a sushi place that featured a floating sushi bar and a very crazy chef. It was fun and the food tasty!

The sushi would just fly by on cute little boats! I couldn't take a clear picture for the life of me!

It was so yummy! I love sushi!!!!!!

After the sushi we hit up a cute little bar, met the owner, who gave us free root beer shots and I discovered this fabulous Lambic beer!

We had a great time and I wish that weekends could be longer!
