I am Harry.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day with friends and family!

Life can't get much better than parades, Holiday movies and pecan pie!

Miss you all!

And Marshmallow Salad...

I think I've become an insomniac...

...again.

It had subsided for awhile, but this post is proof that I am definitely a "night owl". I find myself sitting at a kitchen table with a cup of tea, quietly tapping away on my computer.

Old habits die hard I guess!

During my night time contemplation, I have realized that this is the third year in a row I will not be going home for Thanksgiving. At first it didn't really bother me...I really could have made this year work if I had tired hard enough, but as I sit here thinking about it in light of recent events, it makes me really sad to not be going home.

I would love to wake up in my parents house and stumble down the stairs to the living room in footie pajamas and sit on the couch with a cup of coffee, homemade cinnamon roll and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

After a few hours of laziness, I would find a cute sweater to wear and pile into the car with my parents and brother to journey to our grandparents house where I would 1)make awkward conversation with a cousin I never see or 2) make awkward conversation with my odd Aunt and Uncle who think they have tons of funny cheese jokes. Either way, it would be strangely fun and familiar.

Then after the table was set and drink orders taken, I would stuff myself silly eating generous serving of my grandmother's Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and marshmallow salad followed by a sampling of every dessert available (but not pumpkin pie, I don't really like it!)

After finding myself 20lbs heavier and in such a state of food coma I wouldn't be able to function, we would proceed to the next step in Thanksgiving tradition and curl up on the couch with my mom and start watching our Holiday movies starting with "It's a Wonderful Life" while my dad and brother find ways to escape our slightly psychotic movie marathon.

It's weird to find that life has changed into something you never expected.

I just really want marshmallow salad and a movie marathon with my mom!

Good News From the East

Did you see who's getting married?

For some weird reason the news about Prince William and Kate Middleton's up coming marriage has me very excited. Maybe it's the ring, or the dress, or maybe the fact for the first time in over 300 years England will have a queen who is a "commoner". It's just kind of fun! What is it about Royalty that has us so captivated?!

The other good news coming from Jolly Ole England is the first installment of the last Harry Potter movie! I don't think I'll be going for the midnight showing, but maybe one day this weekend or next week...I actually have three days off next week, I'll have to fit it in!

CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!

I am also very excited for this movie:

It just looks so cute!

I know it's that time of year where we should be shopping for and thinking of others (and I am!) but I bought this for myself the other day:

I got a great deal! I literally only paid a fraction of the cost for it! It's green Amethyst with Diamond accents! The only problem is that it didn't come in half sizes so I had to get it half a size larger and it slips a little when I wear it!

We're just about a week away from Turkey day! I hope you all have fabulous plans and enjoy the company of your family and friends this holiday season!

**Update**
--The black tie event was amazing...I drank champagne ALL NIGHT!

--My last fish has died, I think I'm going to take a break from pets for a little while...

Top Hat and Tails

I am going to a "black tie" event this weekend kids.

I am so excited!

I'm working on finding jewelry and shoes to go with this dress from White House/Black Market:

Isn't it cute?

What am I going to do with my hair?

Tasty Kitchen

So I like to read recipes on Tasty Kitchen. I usually don't bother to attempt anything, but always manage to salivate all over my keyboard.

Well today I made this. Oh my goodness, it was so tasty. No wonder they call the site "Tasty Kitchen"!

Of course I didn't have ALL the ingredients so I used lemon juice instead of lime and instead of the suggested hot sauce I used some leftover chili sauce that came with some awful Chinese take out I had not too long ago. I also added some veggies: broccoli, onion, mushrooms and green beans. That being said, I don't know if I could ever make this dish according to the recipe because I loved my version so much! If you kids get a chance to cook this week try this dish and do it any way you want, I'm sure it will be fabulous!

Oh and randomness for the day:

I am LOVING this song right now:

I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! Happy November!
