Ding-Dong

So the "L" makes a ding-dong noise when the doors close. Isn't that backwards? Shouldn't they ding-dong then open?

Just a random observation.

  1. It's so you don't get squished in the doors, silly. It's to warn you that they are closing.

The train is stopped, of course the doors are opened. It would be a wasted of a ding-dong.
